Has anyone Successfully Scanned Assets in Fluid Physical Inventory post 8.59?

Has anyone who has implemented PeopleTools 8.59 or greater conducted an Asset Tracking Physical Inventory in Fluid?

We're currently testing 8.60 and found out that in 8.59 the rules for how the enter key acts on pages have changed, especially on Fluid's Asset Tracking Physical Inventory Page. The page no longer registers a scanned tag entry automatically and instead requires additional key presses. This is due to the Enter; Go; ->; Carriage Return keys now being disabled and the result would severely hinder the time it takes to scan inventory due to superfluously added time. 

Support is stating that the tab key can now be used to register the tag, but the scanning devices we know of don't offer this as a suffix to a scan as an automated function, and most virtual keyboards don't include a tab key (many mobile devices also disable virtual keyboards when linked to a scanner by default). Even iOS' tab arrows grey out on the PI page since there's only one field.
