How to fix terminal paste e[200~ problem

This happens with Solaris 11.4 install on SPARC S7-2.

First, why would character string e[200~ be inserted before and after pasted characters?

Second, why does a Terminal->Reset momentary fix it?

Finally, how to permanently fix it?
