Has anyone used a configured product kit?

We are currently on 9.2 FSCM and the configurator is no longer supported but we have used product kits (stock) in the past and were looking to try to do a configured product kit. The set up is there but the Order Management system just continues to throw these errors.

A configured kit must have at one required component.

A configured kit, like all kits , must have at least one component that is not "Ok to Ship Without".

Wondering if the configured product kit was removed before version 9.2 and in what version? Are there any documents on how it used to work?
