How to recover backup archive log files on ODA

We have a gap in archive logs between our primary and standby database on two ODAs. The archived logs are no longer available in the +RECO area on primary but we have copies of them in a backup location (NFS). What is the best way to restore them so that they appear in the CONTROL FILE and can be used for shipping to the standby database?
