Xstore Cross store return fails if item does not exist at returing store.

Hi all, looking for a little advice on item ranging and item returns.
Our client sells an enormous number of different items - and many items are not sold at all stores.
For example, item A is sold at 300 of their 800 stores.
The item is not ranged to all stores in RMS.
When the data is integrated into Xoffice/Xstore the itm_item record is created at the organization level (*) and the itm_item_option records are created at the store level, incase there are any differences in how the item is handled between stores.
Assuming item A is sold at store 100, and returned at store 200, if the item is not ranged to store 200, then there is no itm_item_options record for item A store 200.
