Keeping configurations when upgrading ECC

We're upgrading to V10 in our test environment, and the configurations for the charts that we've modified have reverted back to the seeded configurations. Is this standard behavior or is there a way to keep our configurations? For example, on the Payables Command Center, the Supplier Balance charts use the "Operating Unit" dimension. We're using "Validation Status", but when we applied the upgrade, the charts defaulted back to "Operating Unit".
