odacli irestore-database fails with RMAN-03009 ORA-17502 ORA-17500

in Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) (MOSC) 5 commentsAnswered ✓

We are running an x8-2s ODA on version 19.18. We made a level 0 backup of our database and sent it to a remote location with another ODA. Here is the command we used to create the standby database at the remote location:

odacli irestore-database -r /xxxx/xxxxx_bkup/xxxx-05-10-2023.json -u XXXXX_COOP -ro STANDBY -t -dh XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We get the following error during the restore:

RMAN-03009: failure of Control File and SPFILE Autobackup command on D1 channel at 05/11/2023 08:21:11
ORA-17502: ksfdcre:4 Failed to create file /xxxx/xxxxx_bkup/orabackups/xx-xxx-x/database/<dbid>/<sid>/db/c-xxxxxxx-20230511-01
ORA-17500: ODM err:Permission denied
