Auto Population/reverse auto population

I am using Unifier 23.2. I would like to reverse auto-populate a completion date from my change order to my contract. The change order is a date picker, and the contract is a date only picker. I can auto-populate from the contract to the change order, but can't do the reverse. Is this because they are different element types? Is there any way to make this happen?
