Oracle EBS 12.2.11

1) Where are mirrored relationships defined or setup? Is this something we can modify, or is it controlled by Oracle only?

2) We noticed recently, after entering an employee's contact and checking the mirror box (for a parent, for example) that despite saving the record, the checkmark disappears. It did not used to do that - any ideas why?
