Are Any hidden or potential issue if patching Data Guard primary DB First then standby?
Oracle ASM GI Home, Oracle DB version 19 in Oracle Linux 7.
For business reasons, we patched primary DB GI home and DB first. All the logs including datapatch were applied to standby. After a few days we patched the standby. So far, we don’t see Oracle errors in alert log, and data from Primary replicated to standby seems OK.
Data Guard broker is configured for this environment. Standby DB is not covered or switched over to primary during the whole patching process.
We know that Oracle recommends to apply patches in Standby first, then primary. Question is: Are there any hidden or potential issue if patching Data Guard primary DB First then patching standby?
