Different port speeds on Oracle 3 Node RAC DATABASE

hi everyone

i have a question about fc port speeds and oracle rac database

i have a 3 node installation with fc ports at 8gb speed using ASM as storage backend with luns exported from a Hitachi VSP5200 storage box.

san administrators are telling us that we should change the port speeds to 16gb and we want to do it, my question about this is, i have to reboot the box to make this change? i have to stop the database instance? and. if i make this change in a rolling manner, i will face any problem releated with different port speeds on each node with the db running?
