Group Plan DBAs Start Date and mid-payroll cycle

We are exploring the use of Group Plan DBAs and there is a Begin Effective Date for the DBA that is set up in the Group Plan DBAs. If the Begin Effective Date is in the middle of a pay cycle, should I see the DBAs only calculate for the effective dates within that pay cycle and not calculate for any days outside the effective period? I am testing with an interim off cycle entry.
