Siebel update from 22.2 to 23.4 - bug fix patches for intermediate updates required?

We are intending to update our Siebel application from version 22.2 to 23.4.

In Document 2382435.1, for patches 22.9, 23.1 and 23.2 the following statement shows:

IMPORTANT: After you have updated to Siebel CRM Update X, you must immediately apply patch X. Contact Oracle Support for more details.

Do I have to install these extra patches manually or are they available automatically in version 23.4?
