Free Goods - multiple items

On E1 9.1, tools 9.2 -

The user wants to create an adjustment where when they buy five or more items in an item group, they can choose two free items. They want to be able to select those items from a list of items.

I know you can create a free goods catalog, but are limited to choosing just one item. Has anyone come up with a workaround to allow the selection of multiple items from the catalog?
