Required SQL Engine for World Upgrade

I seem to remember a prerequisite for Upgrading to a new version of World Software or moving on to a new release of the IBM i operating system, was a need to make a change such that the system would continue to use the older SQL process instead of the newer SQE process. I would like to find that document again so I can help rule out a problem we are having with another vendor's software.
