On Oracle EBS R12.10.2, US company name change, retaining federal Id number with a new cust record.

On Oracle EBS R12.10.2, US company name change, retaining federal Id number with a new customer record. Must keep 2 two customer records one for the original company name and one for the new company name. Both customer records must be set up and linked to the one federal id from the original customer record.

We have gone into the customer web page, searched by the Registry ID and found the original customer record id.

• When we click on the Create button and enter the data, we can enter the new company name, but we get a new Registry ID number when saving the record. Is there a way to confirm the two different Registry ID number are pointing to the federal ID number?.
