OLVM and Gluster

OLVM 4.4 / Oracle Linux 8 Update 8

Dear Community,

I need to set up an OLVM environment with 2 KVM nodes and 3 VMs. The VMs should be able to be started on both KVM Nodes, but I do not have shared storage, only local storage.

Although I have only 2 KVM nodes available , I would like to use Gluster as storage option. As I understand, I would need 3 nodes because of quorum.


1) Is there a way to configure a third non-KVM node as a arbiter node (without data, only metadata) and therefore be able to use the 2 node KVM with gluster?

On the 2 kvm nodes and third non-kvm node, i have successfully prepared the gluster volume:
