Usage of active data gaurd

Oracle 11g ---> 19c

Hello all,

We've been asked to deactivate active data guard, as we don't have the active data guard license. For more details, we have secondary standby databases in mounted mode (not open read-only). But from time to time we change these databases to snapshot mode and then open them for data integrity testing. After these tests, we change them back to mounted mode.

My question is, is this enough to avoid using the active data guard option, or should we explicitly set the hidden _query_on_physical parameter to false?

Howdy, Stranger!
