Oracle Database Appliance support for Oracle Linux 8 later this year. In preparation for Oracle Database Appliance support for Oracle Linux 8 later this year, please consider upgrading to Oracle 19c database, as Oracle 11g, 12c, and 18c databases are out of standard support. Oracle Database Appliance will support only Oracle 19c databases with Oracle Linux 8. Customers with pre-19c databases on ODA will have to manage them manually. ODA with Oracle Linux 8 will support ODA 19.17 and higher, and the upgrade process will use ODA Data Preserving Reprovisioning (DPR) utility. The DPR utility will re-image of the system drive, which will require some downtime but customers will not need to re-deploy their databases.
