Oracle HFM API for beginners

Hi, we just upgraded our HFM environment from 11.1.2.3 to 11.2.11 and have rewritten all VB codes to Jython, but we would like to develop further features to HFM. I am pretty new to Jython and API programming, and did not found useful information how to get started with API programming. For example how to create an API application, where to save it, how to run it, etc. Is there available some API guide for beginners? One of our main goals it to automate user deprovision from HFM/FDMEE. Once the user leaves the company, we want to have some automated
