How to upgrade as preferred, minor version while doing upgrade from OL7.9 to OL8.x

Hi,

We are having OL7.9 and upgrading to OL8.x but while doing upgrade, not able to upgrade with preferred version like 8.x . Is there any way to upgrade with preferred version. We did upgrade in few servers, and those are upgraded to 8.7 and 1 server with 8.8
