Effective Dates plus Shelf Life Days for a Received Item
Hi,
I'm reading through documentation that:
- The Lot/Serial Effective Date needs to be equal or higher than the Received Date, which usually is the same as the On-Hand Date.
- The Shelf Life Days are calculated starting at the Lot/Serial Effective Date.
The issue I see with this is that the Expiration Date of a procured material might not start when I receive the material, as it should start when the material is first manufactured at my supplier's facilities.
- If a lot is manufactured (by the supplier) in January, then I buy-receive it on March, & it has a SLD of four months, I should flag it as expired on April; but the system will flag it only on July.
