How to prevent a sales order entry for an item after a specific date

in Order and Service Management (Communications Industry) (MOSC) Question

Oracle EBS v 12.2.6 -

We are looking for a way to set a status or a inactive (or other) date in EBS for a specific item that does not allow the user to create a sales order after a specific date. We know we can set attributes on the date that we no longer will allow the sales order to be entered but is there a straight forward way to prevent the sales order after a date that can be set now for the future?
