Cache Next Numbers?

JDE 92

Isn't there a cache for the next numbers? I'm looking at a relatively new 92 implementation. There are very frequent UPDATEs to F0002 across multiple sessions, occasionally causing short-term locks. I don't see this issue in an older (9.0) JDE system that is under heavier use. I seem to remember a configuration where the business function grabs a set of NNs and updates F0002 less frequently. I know this can lead to gaps in NNs.

Can someone remind me where this is configured?
