Error in viewing few of the matrices in 'Define Matrices' page

We upgraded peopletools from version 8.56.09 to 8.60.06. When accessing few of the matrices (Navigation: Setup HCM > Common Definitions> Configurable Matrices> Define Matrices), we are getting the below error:

Java Exception: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Priority: finding class com.peoplesoft.hr.hr.exception.EIException (2,725) HCMD_CORE.metadata.ObjectCatalog.OnExecute Name:getJavaObject PCPC:1123 Statement:19

Please let me know if anyone has encountered this kind of error and solutions if resolved.
