Siebel 23.x Patch Lessons Learned

Hi All,

We are onsite doing a client project where we just patched one of our Siebel upgrade customers up to a very current version of 23.x (23.7). The patch go live went really smoothly but we did learn a few valuable lessons in the lower environments that I wanted to share here in this forum.

  • Siebel Gateway Service Does Not Start After Monthly Patch Update Due to Exception In Registry Operation (Doc ID 2971028.1). The patch will fail unless you create this folder. ERROR The directory c:\Siebel\ses\gtwysrvr\registry\conf does not exists. Unable to upgrade the Siebel Gateway Registry.
