/u01 space issue for ODA upgrade from 19.14 to 19.18

We are upgrading 19.14 to 19.18 in dev and the pre-patch report giving following error.

/dev/mapper/VolGroupSys-LogVolU01 40G 30G 8.0G 79% /u01

13G 19.14.0.0 , 12G 19.18.0.0 , 4.8G grid are the main consumer and there is no way to get 18GB free even after cleanup.

Please advise if we can

1) expand the u01 file system - how ?

2) continute server-update with ignore flag =Y ?
