Update Asset Group on an Asset Route?

EAM - R12.2.10

I know that the ability to update the Asset Group on Assets meeting specific criteria was provided with Release 12.2.6 which I have been able to successfully do. It appears that the same is not possible for Asset Routes as the field remains "grayed out". Could someone please confirm that this is intended? Is the assumption that we would just create a new Asset Route if a change of Asset Group is needed?
