Entity Properties to make HFM journal in <Parent Curr Adj> value dimension

I am testing making an HFM journal entry to the <Parent Curr Adj> value dimension. Accounting needs to make an adjustment to a non-USD base level entity only when it translates to USD. They want to adjust the calculated CTA in a non-calculated adjustment account.

HFM is handling the journal as we expect when I post it to a parent.base entity combination when I set both the Entity attribute AllowAdj and AllowAdjFromChildren to Yes on the parent entities. The parent entities are USD.

Is this the correct way to create journals using <Parent Curr Adjs>?

The documentation I'm reading makes it sound like AllowAdjFromChildren only applies if we want to post a journal to [Parent Adjs]. However, when I set only AllowAdj to Y, no entities appear in the member selector when I go to create journals in <Parent Curr Adjs>.
