Oracle EPM 11.2.x - Applying individual Weblogic, OHS, and JDK patches/updates

I would like to know what Oracle's official recommendation is with regards to organizations wanting to apply Weblogic, OHS, or JDK patches outside the Oracle EPM 11.2.x bundle of patches. This has always been a source of confusion with EPM customers as the generic quarterly Critical Patch update emails typically states "Oracle strongly recommends applying the patches as soon as possible".

We have a customer who is considering doing this. However, as a best practice I/we typically recommend to our customers to apply the patches that are already bundled as part of the EPM 11.2.x quarter releases/patches.

1) As a bundled set of patches, it's been properly tested to work properly with that particular EPM 11.2.x release.
