E1 9.2 Item Unit of Measure Definition Table - insufficient decimal precision

Table F46011 in E1 9.2 - Unit of Measure Definition - has dimension fields and gross weight defined by default with 2 decimal precision. Has anyone changed their data dictionary for the dimension fields & weight fields to use more decimal places, to accommodate very small items without having to use an obscure unit of measure? The desire is to capture cubic feet volumes and gross weights for items in a common UOM such as CF for volume and LB or GR for weight.
