Inventory On Hand Value Report - Intransit Inventory

When running the Inventory On Hand Value Report, we have several items that are listed as Intransit Inventory. These items have been depleted and inactivated for over a year in our business unit. This is making our onhand inventory value higher than it actually is with products on the shelf

1. Why are these items showing in transit when the receiving inventory has received and putaway in the system
2. How can we correct/remove these items

Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
