How to prevent transactions during Cycle Count

Hi All -

How do you handle preventing transactions during Cycle Count? I know there is a metalink document on this (Is There a Way to Freeze Transactions During Cycle Counting or Physical Inventory Process? (Doc ID 2281190.1)) and the recommendation is just to inform users to not transact during CC.

But has anyone developed a good process or workaround to accomplish this?
