Demerger of Customer

I have a case where by mistake we create 2 customer accounts under one party. Plus there are activities (Sales Orders, invoice etc) for both the accounts.
We should have created two parties with one account each.
How do I demerge the 2 accounts.
Account Merger does not seems to be an option. (by creating a new party / account and then merging one account into the new account) as both the accounts should belong to the same party.
In real life also a customer can have 2 divisions (2 accounts) and 1 division can move out to a new entity. How can it be handled. The aim is not to lose history of transactions.
