How to restrict write data in SmartView based on period dimension

Hello everyone,

I'm on 11.2.8 on-prem version and the application has planning and Essbase components setup. Users are utilizing only SmartView to work on their Actuals, Forecast and Budget.

The security is currently based on the scenario. I want to understand if there is a way to restrict data updates (or write) from SmartView for the prior periods. Users are allowed to read but not write to prior period. Please advise how this can be achieved when retrieving in SmartView.
