Is it possible to use current prepayment functionality with advanced payment terms with installments

Oracle E1 version 9.2, tools  9.2.5.6

I am investigating using prepayment functionality in sales, however i need partial prepayment functionality which is not available yet.

Has anyone used Advanced payment terms with installments to help manage this?

My client requirement is that a customer will reserve product many years in advance, and prepay a portion up front with up to another 4 installments until the goods are available and shipped
