Bar code with Maintenance mobile app

Please note we are implementing EAM, mobile application for our Client
Requirement
1.After the implementation business users will scan the physical equipment with the help of bar code stamped on the equipment
2.Once they find he asset details they want to create work request or work order.
whether this is possible?
solution what I am proposing
load EAM Asset with barcode reference and scan barcode on equipment, so that business user can scan and work order the asset
1.Whether we can scan bar code with help of EAM mobile app
2.in this way whether we can achieve this in standard way?
