APPLCSF files after move to OCI

We are running 12.2.6 on OCI. We just migrated from on-premise and found issues with pending/running requests. I've found several articles regarding OCI/APPLCSF performance, most notably is Doc ID 2672468.1 which suggests using APPLLDM which would be our target but as yet we cannot do due to our batch processing application. This article suggests no more than 100,000 files in either log or out directories but I've seen other articles with numbers from 20k to 200K. On Premise we kept about 2Million without any issue. 


I understand this has to do with ls, find, du, or rsync operations. We use rsync for DRP and it runs every 15 minutes. I've added additional purges, our retention is at 20 days now and we cannot really reduce further, although I've put in some purges for specific programs that are run often.
