GoldenGate Monitor Agent 12c installation for IBM AIX on POWER systems

in GoldenGate, Streams and Distributed Database (MOSC) Question

Hi. I'm trying to install the GoldenGate Monitor Agent 12c (12.2.1.2) on AIX7 (64-BIT) 71 1.

For installation is required Java preinstalled

  1. What java distribution should it be? I suppose IBM java. Does Oracle also provides java distribution for AIX on POWER systems?
  2. Should it be JRE, JDK or both? In installation documents there are mentioned Java SE, JDK 8u40 and greater or JRE 1.8
  3. Should be java installed in separate directory (for example /u01/app/jdk) under oracle:oinstall user:group ?
