ShouldI use broker to switch dg regarding (Doc ID 1429223.1) ?

Oracle database 11.2.0.4 on RHEL6.

I have a RAC->RAC dg, I try to test service failover to new primary with this doc ((Doc ID 1429223.1).

but after swich over with sqlplus . I noticed the database role of new primary rac did not change , neither the new standby rac.

Should I use dg borker to switchover so the ocr info could be updated?
