Oracle Linux 8 kernel 5.15-UEK vs 4.18

Hi,

I have a virtual machine running Oracle Enterprise Linux 8.

Actually, it's running a web server, a mysql database and a Oracle Express 18 or 19.

The running kernel is the base kernel 4.18.

When I update the distribution (yum update), I see that there are many update for kernel 5.14-UEK and each time the oldest kernel version of kernel 4.18 is removed but my questions are :

  • is my running kernel (4.18) will be removed
  • can I switch to kernel 5.15-UEK without problem ?
