Enterprise/Web Server in a Linux with GUI installed

Hello Community.

Long time ago, I was told from a CNC that is not possible to use a Web or Enterprise Server in a Linux machine with Graphical User Interface installed. I just would like to know if that rule still valid nowadays, because I tried to find something about it, but I did not find anything.

We have a JDE version 9.2.5.6 installed, with enterprise, web and database servers in VMs with CentOS 7, but none of them have GUI.
