Getting "Relinking rac_on failed" on root.sh while adding RHEL 9 node to 19.20 (RHEL 7) cluster

I am on RAC 19.20 on RHEL 7 after removing an old RHEL 7 node from a 2 node cluster. Also converted ASM disks from ASMLib to AFD. Rebuilt old node to RHEL 9 to get back to 2 nodes (one RHEL 7 and new one RHEL 9). I am trying to use gridSetup.sh to add the new RHEL 9 node and got some seemingly bogus warnings on ASMLib/AFD which I ignored (I understand this might be the issue). All seemed to go fine until I got to the root.sh where it quickly failed relinking oracle
