E1 - MPS-MRP setup for a seasonal product with 2 product structures

Dear Community Members,

I must configure a complex scenario for a particular manufacturing case of the Fishing Industry.

We have a finished good that, depending on the season and quantity obtained it has 2 product structures (essentially 2 BOMs) as follows:

Product 833 (FG):

1)     Components from November to February

-       COMFresh (Fresh recently caught fish) - Raw Material (RM).

-       COMIced (same of the above fish, but Frozen) - Semi-Finished Good (SFG).

2)     Components from November to February

-       COMFresh (Fresh recently caught fish) - Raw Material (RM).

-       COMDefrost (Defrosted fish, reprocessing of COMIced) - Semi-Finished Good (SFG).

Perhaps we can manage Demand and variable quantities by using Planning BOMs (F4102.MPST = 5) and percentages. The main concern es that we have 2 FG product structures. One alternative is to create a BOM Type A (TBM = ‘A’) to work on the less demanding period, changing WO headers before running R31410. However, it’s still a lot of manual work.

Howdy, Stranger!
