Why is Weblogic installed on the exadata DB server?

I'm an exadata db server operator, and weblogic is running on that server. I've never installed it separately, but I'm wondering if weblogic must run to configure oracle exadata by default. If it's unnecessary, I'd like to down it, what do you think?
