how to get the gcc binary on the system?

I have ran pkg install gcc-48 and ips installs whatever. however there is no gcc binary that I can find. /usr/gcc/11/ has no bin, only libs. When I run pkg install gcc-48 it returns no updates necessary for this image. I have also done pkg install system/header and same thing, no updates neccessary for this image.

I do have develperStudio 12.6 installed (as a package publisher).

I do this install maybe once or twice a year.
