Unable to access USB on and ODA

Hi All, wonder if you could help me out

When we try to access the USB device we are getting below error,

# mkfs.xfs /dev/sday1

mkfs.xfs: /dev/sday1 appears to contain an existing filesystem (ntfs).

mkfs.xfs: Use the -f option to force overwrite.

# mkfs.xfs -f /dev/sday1

mkfs.xfs: cannot open /dev/sday1: Device or resource busy

# mkfs. /dev/sday1

mkfs.acfs mkfs.btrfs mkfs.ext2 mkfs.ext4 mkfs.minix mkfs.vfat mkfs.xmem

mkfs.acfs.bin mkfs.cramfs mkfs.ext3 mkfs.fat mkfs.msdos mkfs.xfs

# mkfs.ext /dev/sday1

mkfs.ext2 mkfs.ext3 mkfs.ext4
