I need assistance in creating pay elements that pay a % of salary for an employee

My organozation is currenlty using 12.2.9 Version of Oracle EBS with 19.15 version of Oracle Database. I am looking for documentation that would help me set-up pay elements for our new Short Term Disability program. Ideally we would like their assignment status to drive the employee's pay but I am not aware of how to do that. Any assistance would be great.
