Need guidance if the below approach to storage swap can work as an RU/Patching strategy?

Hi Team,

Oracle Version : 19.21

We are developing a patching strategy for our fleet on Oracle servers. Every host contains GRID_HOME which facilitates the ASM instance, and then ORACLE_HOME where the actual database resides. In order to ensure standardization, minimal downtime, automation, we are developing the below patching strategy which we need Oracle to bless so that we can begin implementing it.

The broad steps are:

1. Have a central server which is used speicifically for patching and creating new Gold Images. This server will stay down and brought up only when generating a new Gold Copy.

2. The installation of GRID_HOME and ORACLE_HOME is restricted to a single disk volume (/dev/sdb) which is mounted to the central patching server as /u01 mount.
