Functionality to Restrict Ability to Modify Journal Entry (P0911) Other than the Original Us

Is there a work around for this since the functionality isn't in JDE to prevent someone modifying a journal entry that wasn't originally created by them?

We want to use the batch approval process but if the approver can review and make changes before posting the entry that doesn't give us much control over journal entry process.

I'm wondering if anyone has worked around this issue to comply with SOX requirements?
